Ten Hag is considered ideal to be the coach of Manchester United

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The question of who will become Manchester United’s manager for the 2022-2023 season is still a mystery. The current manager, Ralf Rangnick has the opportunity to become United’s permanent manager, but there is also the potential for United to recruit other coaches.

Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, and Zinedine Zidane have been linked to become United’s next manager. The first two leading names to train Man United, especially Ten Hag is considered ideal to coach the Red Devils.

There are a number of factors that support the 51-year-old coach at United, especially after seeing Ten Hag’s performance at Ajax Amsterdam for four years.

In addition to being famous for his philosophy of playing offensive and entertaining football in the style of Dutch total football, Ten Hag is able to maximize the individual qualities in his squad, especially in reviving players’ careers.

In the last four years Ajax have won two Eredivisie titles, potentially winning them again this season, and have led Ajax to the 2018-19 Champions League semifinals for the first time since 1997.

This season Ten Hag even brought Ajax through to the group stage by sweeping six games with a win, setting that record for the first time since 1995 and at that time Ajax won the Champions League.

Awakening Player’s Careers

One of the plus points of Ten Hag is that the former Bayern Munich II and Ultrech coach is also good at resurrecting a player’s career.

Some of the players whose careers rose under his tutelage include Dusan Tadic, Daley Blind, Davy Klaassen, Steven Berghuis, Sebastien Haller, to Maarten Stekelenburg. They all had careers in the Premier League and were not successful.

Haller, who signed from West Ham United last season, has scored 18 goals in 19 games this season (10 goals in Europe equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s record). “I owe my performance to Ten Hag. He’s one of the best coaches in the world,” said Haller.

Blind found his form again after only being part of the rotation of players at Man United, as well as Klaassen who was a flop at Evertton and Dusan Tadic who sank at Southampton.

All of which were combined by Ten Hag into a squad that plays collectively with a combination of young players. Speaking of young players, especially academy alumni, Man United also makes it a culture.

Ten Hag developed young talents at Ajax and sold them such as Frenkie de Jong, Hakim Ziyech, Matthijs de Ligt and Donny van de Beek. Did Ajax lose their power? Not really.

Ajax continued that tradition by having young players like Ryan Granvenberch, Jurrien Timber, Noussair Mazraoi, and Devyne Rensch. All the performances that Ten Hag did at Ajax, according to the Mirror, were ideal for coaching United.
