The European Super League Is Considered to Be Bad for the Premier League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger gave his comments about the European Super League. He considered, the European Super League will have a bad impact on the Premier League competition.
A number of European clubs took the initiative to create a new competition called the European Super League. In this competition, the giants from Italy, Spain, France, England and Germany will compete with each other in a league format.
Reportedly, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester United are the six Premier League clubs that have the opportunity to compete.
Even though it sounds interesting, Wenger has a different view. Wenger does not want the Premier League clubs to enter the European Super League trap.
“The Premier League has advantages. The project wants to strengthen superiority,” Wenger said as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
“Other leagues are trying to destroy the advantage that the Premier League has. For them, the best thing to achieve that is to create the European Super League.”
Wenger believes, apart from destroying the Premier League, the European Super League is made to reap huge profits.
“So, it’s tantamount to destroying the Premier League. If they get approval from the big Premier League clubs, it will happen,” he continued.
Recently, the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, confirmed that he is not interested in supporting the European Super League. For him, the most appropriate competition is the Club World Cup.
