The French National Team continued to fail to win
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The French national team again failed to win. Les Bleus drew 1-1 against Ukraine on Sunday (5/9). In that match France even fell behind first.
Didier Deschamps’ team were eliminated from Euro 2020 in the 16 round. They were surprisingly eliminated by Switzerland on penalties. After Euro 2020, France experienced a win drought.
Karim Benzema and his team mates have now recorded five consecutive games without a win. All five matches ended in a draw. This is the first time this has happened.
Even so, France has a great chance of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Les Bleus are currently still top of the qualifying Group D standings with nine points from five matches. They are four points ahead of Finland and Ukraine.
Seeing the results of five consecutive matches that were always a draw, questions arises, what’s wrong with France? Allegations of various internal problems did arise after the 2020 European Cup.
But Deschamps denied the notion that there were problems in his team. “You on the outside have a different impression than what happens on the inside,” the coach said as quoted by AS.
“There’s really no problem here.”
Deschamps explained, if indeed the achievements after Euro 2020 were unsatisfactory, it was more because of the confidence of his team.
In addition, Deschamps also focuses more on the opponent’s game that tends to defend every time against France. Moreover, in five consecutive matches, France always conceded first.
“We have this annoying habit of chasing the score. There are times like that, you have to accept it.”
