DBasia.news – World boxing legend, Mike Tyson, recalls his friendship with the figure of world football legend, Diego Armando Maradona through an achievement. Both of them even became world champions in 1986.

Maradona died at the age of 60 of heart failure at his home, Tigre City, Buenos Aires. Previously, Maradona underwent intensive care in the hospital for brain surgery.

In 1986, Maradona managed to bring the Argentine national team to win the World Cup for the second time. Meanwhile, Tyson won the world boxing title.

“The Hand of God, Maradona has left us. In 1986 we both won the world title. They used to compare the two of us. He is one of my heroes and friends. I really respect him. He will really be missed,” wrote Tyson via Twitter.

In the Twitter tweet, Tyson also uploaded a photo of himself holding Maradona. That was when Maradona interviewed Tyson, in the program La Noche Del 10 in Argentina in 2005.

Quoted from Sportskeeda, Tyson was arrested by the Brazilian police while on a tour, after meeting with Maradona. The reason is, Tyson attacked a cameraman and had to undergo trial.

Tyson then attended court wearing Maradona’s Argentina national team shirt, complete with the legend’s signature. “To Mike, with love,” Maradona wrote in Tyson’s jersey.

After the incident, the two met again at the Cannes Film Festival in France in 2008. That moment was the moment for the two to promote the film ‘Che’, directed by Steven Soderbergh.
