DBasia.news – The Spanish club CF Reus Deportiu are allegedly having an outstanding salary and got a sanction. It’s a bit unique for Europe clubs.
Reus play in the Segunda Division. Ganxets got the sanction due to their critical financial situation.
Apparently, they didn’t pay the salary on time. Hence, Marca reported Reus got 250,000 euro fine and banned from football activity for three years.
Reus would be suspended from Segunda Divison and the players would join other clubs. Next, Reus’ contenders in the remaining competition would have 1-0 and three points.
However, the previous results won’t change. Furthermore, there are only three teams that would be relegated. The Catalonian club might be bankrupt if the situation remains.
Reus fans could only hope the new owner would save the club. They might reduce the sanction, especially for the three-year suspended period.
Two biggest investors are Russell Platt and Clifton Onolfo who bought 99,7% of Reus shares. Spanish media believe Reus have 5 million euro debt.
