These are AC Milan’s 3 candidates for new stadiums

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Reportedly, AC Milan will soon leave the San Siro, one of the legendary European stadiums. Milan will build a new stadium without cooperation with the rival, Inter Milan.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that AC Milan were willing to separate from their city rivals, building a new stadium that was still in the location determination stage. So far there are three potential locations considered.

Previously, AC Milan and Inter Milan had approved a project called ‘Cathedral’ only a year ago. The joint stadium should be built at the San Siro.

San Siro was also originally torn down to comply with environmental regulations, but according to the same report, the plan was no longer the agenda of Gerry Cardinale, the new owner of AC Milan.

Gerry Cardinale wants to build a new stadium alone, without their city rivals. The defending champions of the Italian League have identified three places that could be their new home.

The first option is in Sento San Giovanni, right outside the city of Milan. The City Council has given the green light to every project involving the new Milan stadium. The large area is available for the Rossoneri, which, however, will play for the first time outside the city of Milan.

The second choice is San Donato, also outside of Milan; While the third is an area of 75 hectares called ‘La Maura’, not far from the San Siro, owned by the FCMA group.

Cardinale will make an assessment and make immediate decisions. Gazzetta reported that he realized AC Milan needed a new stadium and did not want to share with Inter.

Still in the same report, it is stated that the club is tempted by abundant income. When facing Tottenham in the Champions League, the club received €9 million.

The high amount is certainly tempting for AC Milan, especially if they regularly play in the Champions League.
