DBasia.news – Since appointed to replace Leonardo Jardim, Thierry Henry faced the same difficulty with AS Monaco in Ligue 1, and he is now struggling to escape the relegation zone. Previously, Henry was coach Roberto Martinez’s assistant in Belgium national team.
Lack of experience in coaching level, Henry got a big pressure.
He must save Radamel Falcao and friends from the relegation zone. However, the 41-year-old coach got negative results in four initial Ligue 1 matches. Henry squad achieved one draw and three defeats, worsening Los Monesgasques’ situation.
After six matches of all competitions with no victory, Henry brought AS Monaco to the winning track on Sunday (25/11) as the 1-0 victory against Caen, his first victory as a coach.
At the end of the match, Henry admits that his first three points achievement in Los Monegasques relieved him after the series of a negative result.
“This victory is a huge relief. We needed that. I am happy for the players, the fans. We could have hidden because in football you never know, but it turned in our favor,” Henry said quoted by Goal.
“This victory can bring us a little serenity, but it is only the beginning and we are still relegated,” he concluded.
Currently, AS Monaco are still struggling in the relegation zone (19th position) with 10 points from 14 matches.
