DBasia.news – New Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag is reportedly interested in bringing his former protege at Ajax, Jurrien Timber, the defender is also eager to try out an adventure in the English Premier League.
Ten Hag has added the 20-year-old youngster to Man United’s shopping list, claims Sky Netherlands.
It wasn’t just Ten Hag who was thrilled. German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also keen on Timber and are ready to make a move in the transfer market next summer.
However, Florian Plettenberg, Bayern’s correspondent, had tweeted on social media that there was good news for Red Devils fans regarding the potential joining of Timber.
“Bayern are interested in him, but the 20-year-old player is said to be likely to join the Ten Hags at Manchester United,” he said.
“Conversations with management have taken place and Manchester United are really hooked,” stated Florian.
Ten Hag himself agreed a three-year contract at Old Trafford with the option of an extension for another year and will start his new adventure in the Premier League next season.
After leading Ajax to a third Eredivisie title, ten Hag is ready to build on success at Man United and make Timber part of his project.
“I think all the top European clubs think about Timber,” added ten Hag.
“However, I think that currently applies to many Ajax players,” concluded the tactician.
