Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte sanctioned by the FA

DBasia.news – Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte were given FA sanctions, for fighting after Tottenham obtained a draw at home to Chelsea, Stamford Bridge. Both coaches were sanctioned with a red card for a disagreement while shaking hands after the match.
Midway through the game, Tuchel reacted violently as Conte celebrated Spurs’ first equalizer on the Chelsea bench.
Tuchel then did the same, running on the touchline as Reece James restored Chelsea’s lead and appeared set to secure all three points for the hosts. But Harry Kane’s 96th minute header ensured both teams shared the points.
“Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have both been charged with breaching FA Rule E3, following the Premier League match between Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday, August 14 2022,” FA said in a statement.
“The behavior of the two managers was allegedly inappropriate following the end of the match. Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have until Thursday, August 18, 2022 to respond.”
A breach of FA Rule E3 occurs when an individual tarnishes the reputation of a match. This includes post-match comments to the media implying bias and/or attacks on the integrity of match officials.
Tuchel revealed post-match that he was disappointed by the decisions made by referee, Anthony Taylor and VAR officer, Mike Dean.
Chelsea boss believes Kai Havertz was fouled by Rodrigo Bentancur in the process of Spurs’ first goal. In addition, Marc Cucurella was grabbed by Cristian Romero shortly before Kane equalized.
“I don’t think it’s just the fans who feel that way. I can confirm that our entire locker room, everyone, feels that way,” Tuchel replied when asked if Taylor should be banned from playing in Chelsea’s games.
“I don’t understand how the [Spurs] first goal wasn’t offside and I don’t understand when a player is picked on, the culprit can still play on the pitch.”
“Take someone, keep playing and attack in the last corner. For me this is no explanation and I don’t want to accept it. Both [Spurs] goals should have been void and a fair result, because we were brilliant, we deserved to win in my opinion.”
It is unclear whether Tuchel will be subjected to additional sanctions for these comments.
