DBasia.news – 11 matches in a row have never lost in all competitions helped Manchester United to reach the top four of the Premier League. All that happened when the team was managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Unfortunately, the record was finally broken when they hosted Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the last 16 of the Champions League that took place at Old Trafford on Wednesday (13/2) early morning Western Indonesian Time. Les Parisien won 2-0 through Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe goals.
Thanks to this victory, many parties judged if PSG is almost certain to qualify for the quarter-finals, especially in the second leg later they will also play in front of their own supporters, Parc des Princes. Didn’t stop there, United won’t be able to play Paul Pogba who got a red card.
But a different opinion was conveyed by Tuchel, the German manager asked his players not to be satisfied too quickly because they still had to play the second leg which will take place on March 7.
“Yes, Paris Saint-Germain knows that we do have the ability to win matches, but I also want the players to know that they can also get back to victory in the second meeting that will take place in Paris,” Tuchel said as quoted by Four Four Two.
“Now the players cannot rest and immediately think about the quarter-finals. We have only taken half of the trip and there is still a second leg to play. Yes, 2-0 is indeed a good result, but no team can qualify to the next round by only winning one match,” he added.
Closing the conversation, the man who had the chance to manage Borussia Dortmund also revealed what had to be done by Gianluigi Buffon and his friends if he wanted to ensure a place in the quarter-finals.
“Now, the players must keep working hard and keep on having a strong mentality. They must also be compact and cooperate with one another. If this is done successfully, the team will be able to win again in the second leg later,” he concluded.
