Through data, Jadon Sancho is believed able to strengthen Man United’s front line

DBasia.news – Jadon Sancho’s transfer saga to Manchester United has ended. Although there has been no official announcement from the official website of Man United or Borussia Dortmund, Fabrizio Romano as a European football transfer expert has confirmed it.

“Jadon Sancho heads to Manchester United. This is it! An agreement has been reached and confirmed. An agreement was reached between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund,” said Romano at @FabrizioRomano.

“90 million euros with variable bonuses. Agent fee and personal agreement has been reached, contracted until 2026. Medical tests are pending, and after that it will be official.”

Sancho is currently still playing in the England national team at the 2020 European Cup. Medical tests until the player’s official news is allegedly only going to happen after England completes their journey in the European Cup.

Sancho’s presence will sharpen Man United’s front line, which already has Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani, to attacking midfielders like Bruno Fernandes.

Statistics have shown that Sancho (21 years old) has better offensive ability than United’s current line of attack. The product of the Manchester City academy player can increase the strength of the Red Devils on the front lines.

Supporting Statistics

A comparison will be made between Sancho and the offensive power in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current United squad. The comparison uses statistics from FBref.

As an example of metrics like key passes, Sancho averaged 2.97 key passes over 90 minutes last season, placing him in the top 97 percentage of players in his position (attacking midfielder, winger).

While United’s offensive players currently have a lower record, namely Rashford (1.26 per 90 minutes), Mason Greenwood (0.74 per 90 minutes), Daniel James (0.99 per 90 minutes), Jesse Lingard (1 .08 per 90 minutes).

Sancho also excels when it comes to his ability to penetrate, attack with ball passes. Then for progressive passes (passes that make the team play offensively and close to the opponent’s goal) Sancho is in the top 99, recording 6.46 progressive passes per 90 minutes.

Again, the four United players mentioned above have stats below Sancho. Unlike his two compatriots, Rashford and Greenwood, who operate deep up front and create their own chances.

Sancho plays with a vision to play in seeing the movement of his team mates and creating chances. Sancho completed 3.58 passes per 90 minutes in the opposition box last season.

The only stats that come close to Sancho from the current squad are creativity metrics. Bruno Fernandes made 2.73 key passes per 90 minutes last season, 6.59 progressive passes per 90 minutes and 2.79 passes into the opponent’s penalty area per 90 minutes.

It will be interesting to see where Solskjaer will play Sancho next season. Because United have many offensive and creative players on the front lines that strengthen the depth of the team squad.
