DBasia.news – Chelsea recruited two players in the 2017 summer transfer market. The two players were Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid and Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco. The last name was bought for 40 million euros.
Unfortunately, both of them failed to meet expectations, even the last name also only lasted one season at Stamford Bridge and then underwent a loan period with top-flight Serie A club AC Milan.
After a long time of silence, Bakayoko finally opened his voice about the reason for leaving Stamford Bridge and choosing to try his luck in Italy. The Frenchman felt if he was forced to leave by the club.
“My failure at Chelsea was caused by various factors. The club did not go well and then they wanted change. Initially, I was still part of the plan,” Bakayoko said as quoted by the Mirror.
“Maurizio Sarri came, and the club told him what was happening at Chelsea. He also brought Jorginho to join. On the other hand, I was just about to start my second season in England – and hope that the club will give more time to adapt, but then the opposite happened. I felt forced to leave immediately, “he added.
Having trouble at Milan and not even being the target of criticism from Gennaro Gattuso, Bakayoko did not give up and continued to show his quality. Now the 24-year-old has played in 31 matches. He also played an important role behind the success of the Rossoneri ranked third in the standings.
“Yes, the choice to join AC Milan was one of the most important decisions ever taken during a career as a footballer. If I had to leave, I would choose Milan. I have also liked this club since I was a child. “Grateful for the opportunity and trust that has been given,” he concluded.
Bakayoko’s hope of staying at the San Siro is also not impossible because the club with 18 Scudetto titles has the option to make their transfer permanent at the end of the loan period.
