Timo Werner becomes a new burden for Frank Lampard due to his declining performance

DBasia.news – Timo Werner’s poor performance was in the spotlight when Chelsea collapsed at Arsenal on Boxing Day. The German player seemed to be a new problem for Frank Lampard.
Playing at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (27/12) am, WIB, Chelsea had to be defeated by a score of 1-3. It was the third consecutive away defeat for the Blues.
Lampard as Chelsea’s manager played Werner as a starter in this match. But he pulled out the striker and Mateo Kovacic at half-time.
Attracting attackers when the game has only been running for one round is certainly not a normal habit. This usually happens because the player is bad.
This was admitted by Lampard. He considered that Werner was unable to show his maximum performance during the first 45 minutes of the match against Arsenal.
“For today, TImo didn’t give us enough contribution with or without the ball, so we have to give him time. I keep saying the same thing because it’s a different league but we have to get there too,” said Lampard after the match.
“We’ll see about fatigue because I will talk to him. But I feel I have to make changes to change the course of the match.”
This season has indeed become Werner’s debut in the Premier League. He was imported from RB Leipzig for 53 million euros.
Werner started his career with Chelsea quite well. He managed four goals and two assists in his first eight Premier League matches.
While in the Champions League, Werner was able to score three goals in the opening three group stage matches. However the situation worsened afterwards.
Werner has now been on goal fasting in the last ten matches in all competitions. This is recognized by Lampard as one of the causes of the decline in the player’s performance on the field.
