Tite was criticized by former Brazilian national team player after ignoring Gabigol and calling Martinelli

DBasia.news – Brazil national team coach, Tite officially announced the squad that will appear in the 2022 World Cup sooner than any other country. Even though it is not an easy matter to choose players as Brazil never runs out of best talents in every position.
This can be seen by Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, as well as Gabriel Magalhaes, who is currently performing well with Arsenal. The absence of the three players is an example of the intense competition in the Brazilian national team.
Tite makes decisions and there are always pros and cons. Former Brazilian national team player in mid 1988-1993, Neto, one of the figures who criticized Tite’s decision. He couldn’t stop thinking about Tite bringing in Gabriel Martinelli.
The 21-year-old player’s performance with Arsenal is good, but he lacks experience with only three caps without a goal. Neto believes that Flamengo striker, Gabriel Barbosa (26) is more worthy of being summoned than Martinelli.
“This is embarrassing, a joke! I am embarassed! Not because of Dani Alves’ story. How is Martinelli’s story? 33 career goals. It’s a shame, a lack of respect for football,” Neto told Os Donos de Bola.
“To do this with football shows that you don’t deserve the position you are in. Calling up Martinelli and not calling up Gabigol is a lack of respect. It’s a disgrace of all the players.”
“Calling up Martinelli shows that you, Tite, shouldn’t hold your position, because you’re being unfair to Gabigol. (Martinelli) who’s scored five goals this season, walking around the mall here and nobody knows who he is.”
“And not bring in Gabigol, the player who scored (and won) the (Copa) Libertadores title, who has scored 29 goals this season. What has Martinelli done in European football? Arsenal are not even in the Champions League. This is a disaster!” he added.
The Brazilian front line is full of players from names summoned by Tite. Apart from Martinelli, there are also Neymar, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Richarlison, Antony, Gabriel Jesus, Rapinha and Pedro. Brazil are in Group G of the 2022 World Cup with Switzerland, Cameroon, Serbia and Switzerland.
