To recruit Pedri, 600 million euros needs to be prepared
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona are discussing to renew Pedri’s contract. The young Spanish midfielder is ready to agree to a deal that keeps him at Camp Nou until 2026.
Talks of extending the energetic midfielder’s contract have accelerated in the last 24 hours and Pedri is reportedly glad to continue his career with the Catalan side.
The Blaugrana are also planning to include a release clause worth more than 600 million euros (Rp 10 trillion) in an attempt to quell interest from some of Europe’s biggest spenders.
This is done as a form of concern that their top players will be hijacked by teams like Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, clubs with financial superpowers who are able to fund big movements of the world’s top players.
According to Goal, Barcelona have been in contact with Pedri and Ansu Fati regarding a contract extension, although negotiations have stalled as the club was unable to offer a high salary.
Despite the midfielder’s current status as one of Barcelona’s top players after an impressive debut season last term, Pedri is one of the lowest paid members of the first team squad. In his new contract, the salary package offered will be significantly increased.
Despite strong interest from several European clubs in Pedri, no concrete offers have been made and the 18-year-old midfielder is happy to extend his stay at Camp Nou after joining from Las Palmas in 2020.
