Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur continued their hunt for players in the transfer market by looking at talent in the Italian League. This time, the target is Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Reported by The Telegraph and quoted by Football Italia, Tottenham have been monitoring the Serbian player for some time. But as rumors surfaced about Harry Kane’s future, the need for a new striker has become even more pressing.
If Tottenham’s number one striker decides to leave, then the management of The Lilywhites want a worthy replacement, and Vlahovic falls into that category. Kane is currently being linked with Manchester City, who had just left Sergio Aguero to Barcelona.
Vlahovic last season did appear well with Fiorentina. At the age of only 21, he has scored 21 goals in 37 appearances in Serie A. This amount is only less than senior strikers such as Cristiano Ronaldo (29 goals), Romelu Lukaku (24 goals) and Luis Muriel (22 goals).
If Kane stays in north London, Tottenham will still need a new striker who can be used as a back-up for the England captain, in addition to maintaining the squad’s depth.
Vlahovic’s contract in Florence runs until 2023, and La Viola are looking to renew it. If Tottenham wants to hijack him, they have to prepare at least 60 million Euros.
An alternative striker who can be recruited is Nwankwo Simy (Crotone), who only costs 10 million Euros. But Tottenham director Fabio Paratici prefers Vlahovic over Fiorentina.
Since Paratici joined this summer, Tottenham have monitored the Italian League to look for players to strengthen the team. Previously, they had secured the services of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta.
Tottenham are also still trying to land Cristian Romero, who also played for Atalanta last season.
