Tottenham Hotspur Secure Their Sixth Signing

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur are still busy compiling their squad. So far they have brought in six players.

The sixth new signing announced by the club is English right-back, Djed Spence. The 21-year-old comes after Ivan Perisic, Ryan Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet.

Spence was recruited from Middlesbrough with a dowry of 12.5 million pounds plus bonuses, signed a 5 year contract (2027). Spence will compete with Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal at Tottenham’s right-back position.

Spence came after helping Nottingham Forest promotion to the Premier League. He also promised fans speed and technical quality in his play on the right.

“Playing in the Premier League and at a big club like Tottenham is a dream come true,” Spence said.

“I’m just grateful I got here and I got the chance to play for the club. Everyone wants to play in the Premier League, as a kid you watched it.”

“It’s a big club, Champions League football and obviously you have some big players who (have) played here, so it’s a privilege to be here.”

“Last year we won promotion (with Forest) and it was just a great season for me, really a dream.”

“I will bring joy, skill, speed, I just want to excite the fans and play well. I can’t wait to meet the players, staff and manager and train with everyone and get into the team.”

Spence came from Fulham’s academy before moving to Middlesbrough in 2018. But there he did not achieve any playing time and was loaned out to Nottingham. Spence was coached by Tony Pulis, Jonathan Woodgate, and Neil Warnock.

With six players already coming to Tottenham, joining Harry Kane and co, their message is clear to their rivals: Tottenham will not only be chasing the top four next season.
