DBasia.news – Numerous transfer rumors have occurred throughout the winter that opens this January. One of the rumors is related to the South Korean defender nicknamed The Monster with two London clubs, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to The Mirror’s report, Tottenham are competing with Chelsea in the London derby to win over Beijing center-back, Guoan, Kim Min-jae. He is a rising star in Asia and is nicknamed The Monster.

Kim plays for Beijing Guoan after previously strengthening Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. The 24 year old player also has 30 caps and three goals with the South Korean national team.

Tottenham has a slight edge with Kim’s citizenship status. As in Jose Mourinho’s squad currently there is compatriot Kim, Son Heung-min. Son can be used as Tottenham’s secret weapon to recruit Kim.

Tottenham were already targeting him after Jan Vertonghen left. They are one step closer to having Son, but they have to be careful in their competition as Chelsea have won Tottenham Hotspur players like Willian in 2013.

Kim’s contract expires in December 2021. According to Transfermarkt, he is valued at 2 million euros. Kim has been defending Beijing Guoan since 2019 and was originally the foundation for the new coach, Slaven Bilic.

His departure could make Bilic look for a replacement. As Kim is a mainstay player at the heart of defense and is quite experienced at the international level. In 2018 Kim and Son won the gold medal at the Asian Games in Indonesia.
