Tottenham look positively at Premier League 2022-2023

DBasia.news – While everyone is highlighting the movement of Manchester United in this hot music transfer market. Tottenham are strategizing for the new season.

All the pieces of the puzzle are there, from the winning coach Antonio Conte, the defensive stars like Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Hugo Lloris, to the quick movement of signing players – just lacking the overall team mentality.

Tottenham deserves to be a dark horse candidate for the 2022-2023 Premier League title. Entering the top four is still their target, but considering Conte’s character and great ambition who has always given titles to Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan, he can also aim for the league title.

Conte already has strong capital if you look at the Tottenham Hotspur squad. Four experienced, quality and in-demand players come in the summer of 2022.

Starting with the arrival of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, and most recently was Richarlison. Defender or winger, goalkeeper, defensive midfielder and striker. Tottenham are looking positively at the 2022-2023 season after last season finished in the top four of the standings.

It’s not even over yet because Tottenham are reportedly getting closer to getting Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet and are eyeing Nottingham Forest full-back Djed Spence.

Football pundit, Paddy Kenny, believes that Tottenham are sending messages to rival teams for the new season. Tottenham will not just aim for a place in the top four of the Premier League.

“If they (Tottenham) can get these players, it really helps them,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“The key is that they keep strengthening because they have gaps to fill. I’m sure Conte doesn’t want to linger trying to get into the top four.”

“He wanted to be out there pushing for third, second or first, he really did. It’s a big signing, a real statement from Tottenham.”

“Once again, I say I can’t wait to see how they play next season,” said Kenny.

New signings of Manchester City as goalkeeper

Manchester City is still setting the strategy for its squad for the 2022-2023 season. In fact, in the summer transfer market, they have recruited Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland.

But the third signing to come to the Ettihad Stadium was quite a surprise. His name had never been heard before. He is a 29 year old German goalkeeper, Stefan Ortega.

Ortega is a familiar name for old football fans and reminds of the former Argentine national team player, Ariel Ortega. Of course Stefan Ortega did not come from Argentina but from Germany.

Ortega’s contract ended with Arminia Bielefeld which he had strengthened for two mid-terms, 2011-2014 and 2017-2022. He was a genuine product of the Bielefeld academy and had played for 1860 Munich. German media Kicker once rated Ortega as the second best goalkeeper in the league.

Manchester City signed Ortega on a three-year contract. He was plotted to layer Ederson because the goalkeeper from the United States, Zack Steffen, will be on loan (rumored to Middlesbrough). While the third goalkeeper position remains occupied by Scott Carson.

“To be given the opportunity to join this group of players and help continue the club’s success is a dream for me,” Ortega said.

Txiki Begiristain as the Director of Sport for Man City also assessed that the club did not choose to recruit Ortega, according to him, according to him Ortega could compete for the main goalkeeping position and also help young players with his experience.

“He has joined to compete with other goalkeepers and help our young players, so this is a transfer that we are very happy about,” added Begiristain.

As reported by WhoScored, Ortega has the power of reflex to save close-range shots, high focus, and his greatest strength is the forward pass. His greatest strength is considered to be a factor for Pep Guardiola to recruit him. It’s no secret that the goalkeeper Guardiola wants is a goalkeeper who can build attacks from behind, in addition to carrying out his duties as goalkeepers.
