Two Arsenal players will be released to Marseille

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The busyness of the summer transfer market continues in the midst of the 2020 European Cup. Arsenal are one of the teams that are already busy at the moment, whether it’s releasing players or working on recruiting new ones.

Without participation in European club tournaments, it will not be a problem for Arsenal, who are still working to strengthen the team. Mikel Arteta is targeting a number of names but also releasing players who are in surplus in the team.

Talking about those who were released by Arsenal, it is reported that Olympique Marseille will obtain two players from the North London club in the near future. The source came from a trusted source.

Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein shared the news. The first is regarding William Saliba, who will be loaned back by Arsenal to French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille. Then also Matteo Guendouzi.

“William Saliba’s situation is not good, but everyone involved understands he needs a full season as a regular and ideally in European football,” said Ornstein, who is a well-known correspondent for European football.

“It’s not realistic to happen at Arsenal, but on loan (Marseille is his choice). How the fate of the 20 year old and Arsenal will likely affect his future.”

Meanwhile, Guendouzi, who last season was loaned to Hertha Berlin, rejected Benfica’s proposal, because he wanted to play in his hometown and wanted Marseille.

“Matteo Guendouzi will join Marseille from Arsenal, the deal expires next week, Guendouzi turned down Benfica’s offer as he only wants Marseille. The final deal will be signed, the same as Saliba on loan,” added Romano.

William Saliba’s bad fate

Returning to the season on loan could be frustrating for Saliba. Since being recruited by Arsenal in 2019 with funds reportedly reaching 27 million pounds, Saliba was never given the confidence to show off at Arsenal.

In the last two years the French centre-back has been on loan at Saint-Etienne and Nice. Saliba could change his decision if he no longer wants to be on loan at Arsenal and asks to sell him permanently to Marseille.

No doubt according to Ornstein the transfer could affect Saliba’s future at Arsenal. Meanwhile, Arsenal released the player to Jorge Sampaoli’s team as they were getting closer to getting a new defender.

Arsenal are reportedly getting closer to signing England defender who plays at Brighton & Hove Albion, Ben White. White was plotted to fill the space left by David Luiz and competed with Gabriel, Rob Holding, Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers for a place at Arsenal’s back line.
