Manchester City

DBasia.news – Manchester City won the 21st-week match of Premier League against Liverpool with a 2-1 score at Etihad Stadium, Friday (4/1).

Man City won by the goal from Sergio Aguero at 40′. But, at the beginning of the second half, Liverpool equalized the score at 64′ by Roberto Firmino goal. Leroy Sane made it different by the decisive goal at 72′.

Both teams are just four points difference now. Liverpool are in the first place and Man City in the second place. Liverpool are six points higher than the third place, Tottenham Hotspur.

Pep Guardiola, coaching staff, players, and fans (Noel Gallagher is included) are having the euphoria of the victory. It ends the unbeaten record of Liverpool in the Premier League.

Interestingly, not too long after that, there’s a bad rumor about Man City. Yves Leterme, the chief investigator of UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body, claimed Man City might be eliminated from the Champions League.

The issue is the next stage of Der Spiegel report about Man City’s FFP violation.

UEFA might investigate that issue by the finding that Man City’s budget from Etihad (including the £59,5M in 2015) was paid by Abu Dhabi United owner who is also the President of Man City.

It means Man City violated FFP regulations.

“If it is true what has been written, there might be a serious problem. This can lead to the heaviest punishment: exclusion from the UEFA competitions,” Leterme said cited by AS.

It would be a problem if UEFA found the proofs. Champions League is the resource for Europe clubs. Moreover, Man City have the ambition to win it.
