UEFA Investigates Manchester City on the Potential FFP Violations
By news-admin
DBasia.news – UEFA is fiercely upholding the rules of FFP (Financial Fair Play). At present, UEFA is believed to be investigating Manchester City regarding the potential violations.
A few months ago, Der Spiegel called a number of European clubs making false reports. The report contains documents relating to FFP.
In the report, two clubs were under the spotlight. Both being Manchester City and PSG which are considered to have violated a number of FFP rules.
“The UEFA Financial Investigation Division opened an investigation into Manchester City regarding possible violations of FFP rules,” the official UEFA statement said.
“The investigation will focus on FFP reports that were previously published. UEFA will not comment during the investigation,” the statement continued.
Meanwhile, Manchester City welcomed the investigation conducted by UEFA. The Citizens assess that it can clear their good name.
“Manchester City accepted UEFA’s investigation to prove the accusations against us were untrue. This could end speculation about us,” a Manchester City statement said.
“Allegations against FFP violations are entirely wrong. Manchester City always publishes their financial reports that are honest and in accordance with regulations,” the statement added.
This is not the first time UEFA has launched an investigation into Manchester City regarding FFP. In 2014, The Citizens had experienced the same thing.
