DBasia.news –  Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal striker, did not go down as a starter against Newcastle United in the Premier League match. The matter has raised  questions. Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, outlined the reason.

Arsenal won at home to Newcastle at Emirates Stadium in the Premier League 2018-2019 continued match,  Monday (1/4). The Gunners won 2-0.

In the match, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did not play from the beginning. Aubameyang  only appeared when the game went on for 61 minutes, replacing Alex Iwobi.

Even so, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang contributed to Arsenal’s victory. Aubameyang provided an assist for Alexandre Lacazette when the match was seven minutes remaining.

Apparently, the reason for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang not playing from the start was because he had a fever. However, Unai Emery mentions, Aubameyang is ready to play for 30 minutes.

“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suffered from a  high fever for two days and had just recovered. To be honest, Aubameyang is doubtful to appear in the match this time,” said Unai Emery.

“However, he said he was ready to play on the substitute bench. After that, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appeared impressively for 30 minutes on the pitch.”

“I feel fortunate to have a number of good players. All Arsenal players work hard and decide to stay here,” Unai Emery continued.

The victory made Arsenal rise to third place in the Premier League standings. Unai Emery’s side collected 63 points from 31 matches.
