Unai Emery’s Unique Comment After Arsenal’s 1-1 Draw against Wolves
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Arsenal won a draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the continuing Premier League action. Unai Emery, Arsenal manager, issued a unique statement.
Arsenal drew 1-1 against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium, Saturday (02/11) PM. Having a lead from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal in minute 21, a goal from Raul Jimenez in minute 76 has made the match ended in a draw.
It became Arsenal’s third game in a row without a win in all competitions. Unai Emery was in the spotlight and the spotlight grew after the fight ended when he stated this.
“This is a bad result, but in terms of tactics, the game went the way we wanted,” Emery said curtly, asquoted by BBC Sport.
Then the interesting statistics of the match appear. Wolves released 25 attempted kicks and eight of them were on target, while Arsenal only had 10 attempted kicks (four on target). From the statistics it can be seen, is it appropriate to say the game ran accordingly to Arsenal’s wishes?
“Not in the press conference room, I was in a mixed zone waiting for the players. However, the quote from Emery seems bad. I mean, how can you give 25 kicks and only release 10 from your team, then you say that’s what you want? “said Arsenal correspondent for Goal, Charles Watts @charles_watts.
Naturally, the appeal “Emery Out” was heard at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal’s inconsistency is still evident in the second season Emery coached the club. However, the manager has a firm answer to the fans’ complaints.
“I am very demanding to myself and I feel my responsibility to work every time to be able to return to achieve better results in subsequent matches,” Emery answered.
“We talked about how we can develop and how to get the best performance.”
Next week, Arsenal will play two games against Vitoria SC in the Europa League (11/06) and Leicester City, week 12 of the Premier League, at King Power Stadium (10/11).
