Unhappy in Turin, Matthijs de Ligt joins Chelsea?

DBasia.news – Maurizio Arrivabene, Juventus’ boss, gave a surprising confession regarding one of his mainstay defenders, Matthijs de Ligt. The 65-year-old man confirmed that the Dutch defender no longer felt at home at Juventus and wanted to leave Turin.
However, Maurizio Arrivabene did not mention which team Matthijs de Ligt would join. He only stated that he would not keep players who no longer feels at home at his current club.
Matthijs de Ligt actually appeared consistent with Juventus in the 2021-2022 season. The player, who was brought in by Juventus from Ajax Amsterdam, appeared 42 times and was irreplaceable at the back of Massimiliano Allegri’s team.
But unfortunately, it is reported that Matthijs de Ligt does not feel at home at the Allianz Stadium. The 22-year-old player is rumored to be being targeted by Chelsea.
Maurizio Arrivabene as the club’s CEO also opened up about these rumors. He confirmed that Matthijs de Ligt did want to leave Juventus.
“It is impossible to detain those who want to leave, but we have to find a match with the decisions at the negotiating table,” said Maurizio Arrivabene as quoted by Tuttomercato.
Chelsea themselves are reportedly considering famous names to fill their back line posts next season. For your information, the Blues, Chelsea’s nickname are targeting a new defender to replace the role of Antonio Rudiger who officially anchored to Real Madrid.
In addition, the Blues are also said to be losing Andreas Christensen, who left this summer. Matthijs de Ligt himself is included in the list of Chelsea’s priority targets.
Apart from Matthijs de Ligt, Chelsea are also targeting Joules Kounde (Sevilla), Nathan Ake (Manchester City), and Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has recently confirmed that Chelsea have made an approach with these names.
