DBasia.news – The legendary sprinter Usain Bolt refused the two-year-contract offer from Malta football club, Valletta FC.
According to his agent, Bolt is still expecting to sign the contract from an Australian club, Central Coast Mariners.
Valletta, the winner of Malta League, are looking forward to recruiting the 8 times Olympic gold medal winner sprinter for the Malta Super Cup match against Balzan next month. However, Bolt’s agent in Australia emphasized that the former sprinter won’t move to Malta.
“Usain does not wish to pursue this Malta opportunity. There is a lot of interest in Usain playing football. We regularly receive similar approaches,” Bolt’s agent Ricky Simms told ESPN.
Bolt, the world-record winner for 100m and 200m sprint often reveals his expectation to perform in the Australian League of 2018-2019 season starting this week.
“I’m really not interested in it (contract speculation) to tell you the truth,” he told reporters.
“He’s been great among the guys and I was happy for him last week with the two goals he scored,” he said.
