Vlahovic Gives New Color to Juventus

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Dusan Vlahovic again played a big role in Juventus’ victory. This time, his hard work helped the Bianconeri get rid of Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia.

Juventus inaugurated the arrival of Vlahovic at the end of the winter transfer market. The Serbian striker was redeemed for a fee of around 70 million euros from Fiorentina.

Vlahovic is projected to be Juventus’ new goal machine. He was even entrusted with inheriting the number 7 jersey left by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Vlahovic seemed unburdened by these high expectations. He immediately scored in his debut match when Juventus beat Verona in Serie A, last weekend.

Vlahovic again played an important role in the success of Juventus advancing to the Coppa Italia semifinals. He was directly involved in the Old Lady’s winning goal when they beat Sassuolo with a score of 2-1.

The Vlahovic effect was also felt by Juventus legend, Alessandro Del Piero. He is quite confident his former team has the capacity to speak volumes for the rest of the season.

Del Piero is aware that Juventus’ chances of winning the Scudetto this season is quite small. Therefore, he began to expect more regarding the role of Massimiliano Allegri’s team in the Champions League.

“I have seen similarities between this team and the squad that reached the Champions League Final in 2017. They are solid defensively and the midfielders have a different attitude,” Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia.

“If Allegri can play with all three strikers up front, he has to do it.”

2017 was the last time Juventus were able to reach the Champions League final. Unfortunately the Italian giant’s hopes of winning the title were thwarted by Real Madrid.

At that time, Juventus was also handled by Allegri. The tactician relies on a trio of front lines, namely, Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain, and Mario Mandzukic.

The arrival of Vlahovic made Allegri return to using a three-attack scheme. This time he relied on Dybala, Vlahovic, and Alvaro Morata.

“They have Dybala, a centre-forward and Morata is playing wide on the left wing like (Mario) Mandzukic,” he added.

Juventus’ opportunity to advance to the final is still open. But first, they must be able to reduce Villarreal’s resistance in the next round of 16.
