Werner’s Performance Declining, Lampard Can Still Understand
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Chelsea coach Frank Lampard understands Timo Werner’s declining sharpness. According to him, that’s commonplace in football.
Chelsea spent 53 million euros to get Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. The Blues won competition with several English clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United.
It didn’t take long for the German player to integrate into Chelsea’s game. Werner scored five goals in just four games.
However, conditions are inversely proportional to approaching. In the last eight matches, Timo Werner has always failed to score. In fact, Werner is a player who has earned Lampard’s trust.
The manager did not corner Timo Werner. Lampard actually gave advice so that Timo Werner’s sharpness would return.
“Every striker will want to continue to be fertile. However, they also have to have a strong mentality and confidence to go through difficult moments like this,” said Lampard as quoted by SportsMole.
“Everyone will face those times. Even with the strikers,” said the manager.
Timo Werner has also revealed the reasons behind his recent blunt performance. Werner feels he still needs adaptation to the new league.
“It does not matter how much your official price. In my opinion, there is always pressure when you come to a new club. However, I am confident that I can handle it. This is nothing new,” Werner said as reported by Sky Sports.
“The Premier League is different from the previous leagues. It’s tougher than I thought. The physical duel here is stronger than in Germany. In fact, my forecast is not this big.”
Chelsea will host West Ham United in the 2020-2021 Premier League match, at Stamford Bridge Stadium, Tuesday (22/12). Currently, Jorginho and his friends are in eighth place in the standings.
