West Ham ruined Gareth Bale’s debut moment with Tottenham

DBasia.news – West Ham United deserves a thumbs up. Imagine being left behind 0-3, the team coached by David Moyes was able to rise to equalize to 3-3. In a match that took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (18/10), Tottenham coach, Jose Mourinho decided to postpone Gareth Bale’s debut on the bench.
Tottenham announced Bale’s return since mid-September. The 31-year-old player is on loan from Real Madrid.
Even so, The Lilywhites was unable to immediately play Bale. The player apparently came to England with an injury.
However, Bale has been training in full since the beginning of last week. Therefore, his debut in the match against West Ham was planned by Tottenham’s manager, Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho brought on Bale in the 72nd minute when the score was 3-0 for Tottenham’s lead. The three home goals against West Ham were scored by Son Heung-min (1 ‘) and Harry Kane (8’ and 16 ‘).
Under these conditions, Bale should have been able to play without a burden. But whether it’s a coincidence or not, Tottenham’s game has declined since the Welsh star entered the field.
Tragically, West Ham were able to score three goals through Fabian Balbuena, Davinson Sanchez’s own goal and Manuel Lanzini’s spectacular shot with the time remaining. The match between the two teams from London ended equally strong 3-3.
A fact that is hard to believe. Moreover, Bale wasted a golden opportunity when he was left with the West Ham goalkeeper.
Even so, Mourinho was reluctant to blame Bale for Tottenham’s failure to win. He considered this to be the responsibility of all players.
“He’s been well received in this team, everyone likes him and I’m sure he also likes what he’s found here. It’s a shame he couldn’t score a really beautiful fourth goal and it would have killed the game, but that’s football,” said Mourinho after the match
“The focus is not on him but on the game. He was on the bench for 65 minutes or so and I didn’t think of it at all (Bale caused the draw).”
The arrival of Bale had caused high enthusiasm in Tottenham. They believe they can compete in the race for the title.
However, the performance shown by Bale on his debut match might make that enthusiasm diminish. But the player still has the opportunity to show his qualities as a star with a winning mentality.
