DBasia.news –  A landslide defeat 0-3 from the first aggregate did not affect the mentality of playing Liverpool when entertaining Barcelona at Anfield, the Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday (8/5) early morning Western Indonesian Time. Liverpool won 4-0 over Barcelona.

The hosts were not strengthened by two of their flagship attackers, namely Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, but they were able to score four goals through Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum, whom each scored twice. The Reds went to the top of the party with a 4-3 aggregate advantage.

Quite a lot of interesting things happened throughout the game, one of which was Jurgen Klopp’s decision to reserve Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutchman just entered in the second half to replace Andrew Robertson who suffered an injury.

After the match, Wijnaldum, who in this match performed brilliantly and became the key to the team’s victory with a pair of goals, also admitted that he had been disappointed and angry at Klopp for putting him on the bench.

“Yes, of course, I was very emotional, I was angry with the manager because he put me on the bench! When I felt I had to do something when I was trusted to appear in the second half. I had to help the team. Good performance from all players,” Wijnaldum said as reported by Goal.

Victory over Barcelona felt very special for Liverpool, they again had the opportunity to win the Champions League trophy after last season failed because they had to admit the superiority of the defending champions, Real Madrid with a score of 3-1 at the top of the party.

Closing the conversation, Wijnaldum also confirmed that he and his team-mates were very confident if Liverpool would be able to make a brilliant comeback and qualify for the final even though in the first leg they lost 3-0 to El Barca.

“What can you say about this match? Absolutely unbelievable. After the match (against Barcelona in the first leg), you are very confident that Liverpool can score four goals at Anfield and win 4-0,” he added.

“Many people out there doubt Liverpool and think we can’t do it (qualifying for the final), but once again the team shows that everything is possible and finally we can win 4-0,” explained the 28-year-old.
