Willian and Pedro Writes Farewell Letters for Chelsea

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Two Chelsea players, Willian and Pedro, both bid farewell to the club and its supporters. Both of them have ended their contracts and are ready to look for challenges elsewhere.

Willian and Pedro have indeed been at the end of their contract with Chelsea. The two senior players refused to stay longer at Stamford Bridge.

Pedro is said to be continuing his career in Italy with AS Roma. He claims to have enjoyed five years of his career with Chelsea.

Pedro was brought in by Chelsea in the summer of 2015. At that time they cornered Manchester United who were also interested in bringing in the former Barcelona player.

“I am very happy here, you make me feel at home. It is a pleasure and an honor to play for this club and win the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League titles, and compete in one of the best football leagues in the world.” Wrote Pedro’s farewell message via Twitter.

“I say goodbye with great pleasure in my career, I am also excited to start a career in a new place. Thank you fans, good luck for the future.”

Things weren’t much different for Willian. He refused the contract extension offered by Chelsea as it only lasted two years.

The Brazilian national player also ended his seven-year relationship with Chelsea. Willian successfully presented two Premier League trophies, one FA Cup and one Europa League title.

“In August 2013 when I received an offer from Chelsea, I believe this is where I have to play. Today I believe it is the best decision,” read Willian’s farewell message.

“I am very grateful to the Chelsea fans for the loving way they welcomed me at Stamford Bridge and their support during my time at the club.”

Despite parting ways with Chelsea, Willian is predicted not to leave the Premier League and the city of London. The Brazilian player is believed to be in negotiations with Arsenal, who agreed to give him a three-year contract.

The departure of Willian and Pedro indirectly marked the start of a new era for Chelsea. Frank Lampard as manager has brought in a number of new stars such as Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to replace the two.
