Xavi Simons Joins PSV

DBasia.news – Eccentric wonderkid, Xavi Simons surprisingly refused to extend PSG’s contract and officially joined the Eredivisie giant club, PSV Eindhoven, Wednesday (29/6).

Simons was brought in by PSV on a free transfer. The 19-year-old striker is contracted until June 2027.

The player was rumored to be extending his contract at PSG and loaned to PSV. However, in fact he decided to part permanently with Les Parisiens.

“We have seen almost every game this season where he has started,” said PSV’s director of football, John de Jong.

“In addition to all the international matches he played for the Dutch youth team, we saw him live in the Youth League in Leipzig, Paris, Bruges, Manchester and against Sevilla,” he added.

“In this he convinced us. Xavi has everything to develop into an important player for PSV. He wants to walk there with us,” he concluded.

Since being signed by PSG from La Masia in 2019, Simons has made 11 appearances in the senior squad for the rich French club, contributing one assist.

Simons is the latest graduate of the PSG academy who chose to leave following a number of seniors, one of which is Kingsley Coman, Christopher Nkunku, and Moussa Diaby.
