Xavi targets Champions League tickets for Barcelona

DBasia.news – Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez revealed that his team’s main target this season was securing a ticket to the Champions League season. This was conveyed ahead of Barcelona’s match against Atletico Madrid.
“Getting a place in the Champions League is our main target at this time. And from now on, I will not rule it out until mathematically it is impossible,” said Xavi as quoted from the Football-Espana website.
In order to meet the target, in the January transfer window Barcelona brought in several new players such as Ferran Torres from Man City, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal, and Adama Traore from Wolves.
regarding some of the new players who came, Xavi said he was satisfied with the existing squad. Plus the presence of new players who according to him can still develop with the current team.
“I’m still very excited, both with what we have in the squad and with the new signings,” stated Xavi.
Regarding the match against Atletico Madrid, Xavi said they will face a tough team who often dominate high pressure and are good at defence.
“We will play against a challenging team who dominate high pressure and low blocks. We have to show that we have trained well. This will be a real test,” added Xavi.
Barcelona will try to win when they face Atletico Madrid in Week 23 at the Camp Nou Stadium.
Barcelona are currently in fifth place in the LaLiga standings with 35 points from 21 matches, only one point ahead of Atletico Madrid, who are in fourth place.
