Zidane asks Real Madrid to be sharper for the LaLiga title

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane continued to express his determination to defend the LaLiga title. In order to make this happen, Zizou had asked his team to appear sharper.

Currently Madrid are still stuck in third place with 54 points. Los Blancos are eight points behind Atletico Madrid and two points from Barcelona.

With 12 matches remaining, Madrid’s chances of winning the top of the standings are still opened. However, the club in the Spanish capital must not slip.

In addition, Zidane highlighted that Madrid’s goal productivity is quite low when compared to its two competitors. So far, Karim Benzema and his team mates have only scored 44 goals.

This amount is far behind Barcelona, who has the status of the most fertile team in LaLiga with a collection of 57 goals. While Atletico are in second place with 50 goals.

“We are working every week to improve our attacking game. We will try to improve the individual stats and every player wants to do that,” Zidane said on the club’s official website.

“There are 12 games left to play and each team can take and drop points. We lost a lot of points, but we will continue to believe until the end.”

Superior head to head

Despite losing in goal productivity, Madrid are superior in terms of head to head with Atletico and Barcelona. This is very crucial if the points for the three teams are the same at the end of the season.

Unlike most leagues, LaLiga sets head to head as the first condition in determining the position in the standings if there are two teams with the same points.

Madrid is definitely winning head to head with Atletico. Of the two meetings this season, they recorded one win and one draw.

Meanwhile, with Barcelona, Madrid was able to win the first meeting at the Camp Nou with a score of 3-1. While the second match will only be held on April 11.

That means, Madrid will benefit greatly from this condition. However, these advantages will not be meaningful if they fail to catch up with Atletico and Barcelona.
