Zidane Comments on Raphael Varane’s Two Blunders against Manchester City

DBasia.news – Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane also commented on Raphael Varane’s two blunders against Manchester City.
Raphael Varane was the culprit for the two goals scored by Manchester City. The French international defender’s mistake led to a goal.
In the first situation, Gabriel Jesus grabbed the ball at Varane’s feet. The defender looks too long in possessing the ball, even though he is in the defensive area. Jesus then sent the ball to Raheem Sterling, who then scored the goal.
Man City’s second goal came back from Varane’s mistake. This time, Varane’s pass to Thibaut Courtois was too weak for Jesus to take.
After the match, Zidane felt that the defeat had to be accepted. Zidane has also spoken to Varane.
“We have spoken. Nobody can feel happy about what happened,” explained Zinedine Zidane as reported by Marca.
“However, we have to accept this because it often happens in the world of football. Now is the time to congratulate the opponents,” added the coach.
Zinedine Zidane still sees the positive side of this defeat. Although, this is the first time the coach has been eliminated in the Champions League.
“It feels very good. It did not end well, but this season feels very good. We have to be happy with what has been done,” said Zidane.
Real Madrid is not without achievements this season. Los Blancos are LaLiga champions after winning the competition against Barcelona towards the end of the season. Meanwhile, Madrid also won the Spanish Super Cup title after overthrowing Atletico Madrid in the top match.
