Ziyeck is considered to be threatening Willian and Pedro’s position at Chelsea

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Chelsea have just announced the purchase of Judge Ziyech from Ajax Amsterdam. Many consider the arrival of the Dutch-born player could threaten the positions of Willian and Pedro Rodriguez.

Ziyech, 26, is known for playing the right winger. This position is also known to be the main position of Willian and Pedro.

So far, the fate of the two is unclear. Their contract will expire in June, and there are no signs of it being extended.

Pedro has increasingly been rarely played by Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard. This season, he has appeared 6 times in the Premier League.

Willian is actually still a mainstay of Lampard, but rumors have emerged that he is in demand by a number of big clubs such as Juventus and Barcelona.

Does Ziyech’s arrival mean they will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season? As both Willian and Pedro are more than 30 years old.

“No, it’s not like that,” Lampard said, as quoted by Metro.

“Conversations (new contracts) with the two are still ongoing.”

“We purchasedquality players (Ziyech) who could be played in various positions. So his arrival will not have an effect on one particular player,” continued Lampard.

Although he could not guarantee the future of Pedro and Willian, Lampard praised the performance of both players, who remained professional in an uncertain situation.

“They both have achieved success at this club,” said Lampard.

“Both are also very professional, working hard this season and helping young players a great deal.”

“But the results on the field are the main thing, so whether they will stay or not, their contribution so far for the club is very much appreciated,” said the former Manchester City player.
