Zlatan Ibrahimovic will hand over his duty to Franck Kessie after failing to be a penalty taker three times

DBasia.news – Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to give up his duties as AC Milan’s penalty taker after failing to do his job for the third time this season. The former Swedish national team player failed to do his job during the match against Verona which ended in a 2-2 draw on Sunday (8/11).

Although Ibra went on to score the equalizer for Milan in added time, it didn’t ease his frustration. Ibra also gave a signal that he would leave his job and hand it over to Franck Kessie.

“Obviously I’m angry, today’s draw was not good. We had lots of chances and I also missed the penalty,” said Ibra.

“I will probably let Kessie do the next one,” he continued as quoted by Reuters on Monday.

Kessie was appointed to be Milan’s penalty taker before Ibrahimovic arrived in January. The Ivorian has a fine record, hitting nine out of 10 penalties.

After playing twice a week for almost a month, Ibrahimovic said he was looking forward to a two-week break before his next match.

“I need to rest. I don’t have the sharpness and determination that I usually have in front of the goal. I feel like I’m not completely there,” he concluded.
