Zola Mentioned Two Most Suffering Chelsea Players under Sarri’s Direction
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola called Eden Hazard and Willian as players who had enough difficulty under manager Maurizio Sarri’s direction because of his boring training methods.
Zola worked as an assistant while Sarri served as coach of the Blues for one season. They won the Europa League and finished in the top four in the Premier League, but Sarri decided to go to Juventus.
That season was not too perfect for Sarri, where the fans gave a lot of criticism but in terms of results there is no doubt that the Italian coach has an encouraging achievement.
Despite being the only season for Sarri in English football, he was able to finish with an astounding 61.9% win ratio and a trophy to his name.
However, his repetitive and boring training techniques seemed to hamper creativity at Chelsea, with Zola admitting that the talent for changing the direction of the game was dead in the Sarri era.
“They are talented players, like Hazard and Willian, players who know how to win matches in their own way, but they have difficulty because of the type of training we do, but that is needed for others,” Zola told beIN Sports.
“I will be honest that they are brilliant players so they are bored, even so they keep doing it and that is the reason why when everyone falls, we continue to rise towards the end,” added Zola.
