A Player’s Agent Accused Sir Alex Ferguson Receives a Bribe

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, accused by Giuseppe Pagliara, took bribes when the match against Juventus.

Currently, Pagliara is undergoing a trial for alleged bribery with another player’s agent, Dax Price, and former Barnsley assistant manager Scot Tommy Wright. The three figures provided rebuttal at the trial.

However, one of the issues revealed at the trial dragged the name of Sir Alex Ferguson. Pagliara, who at that time worked with Juventus officials, Luciano Moggi, claimed to buy a gold-colored Rolex watch for 35 thousand euros.

“If there is one thing I can take advantage of is the greed of the coaches. I think people in Italy are the most corrupt, but in the UK it is even worse,” explained Pagliara as reported by Calciomercato.

Luxury watches are believed to make Sir Alex Ferguson succumb to Juventus while competing in the Champions League in 2012. So far, Pagliara’s testimony is still in doubt by prosecutor Brian O’Neill OC.

“They hide everything under the table. You don’t know how many call me after the player’s transfer and ask: ‘Pino, is there coffee for me?’. I open many bank accounts in Switzerland,” Pagliara continued.

Some parties estimate that Pagliara’s statement is nothing more than baseless accusations. One of the big questions is whether Sir Alex Ferguson who receives a salary of 9.4 million euros per year in 2012 wants to be paid for succumbing only with a luxury watch?
