DBasia.news –  Liverpool continue to compete in the race for the Premier League title against Manchester City. Most recently, the Reds won 4-2 over Burnley in Week 30 which took place at Anfield on Sunday (10/3) night, via two goals from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Burnley’s two goals came from goals from Ashley Westwood and Johann Berg Gudmundsson. Liverpool are now just one point adrift of Man City at the top of the table, after Man City won 3-1 over Watford at the Etihad Stadium.

The victory came just in time for Liverpool. Because before they had gone through three matches in all competitions without winning and a 0-0 draw, plus they will fight Bayern Munich in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League.

Burnley is not the best team in terms of ball possession or attractive football style. Nevertheless, Sean Dyche’s team is able to efficiently exploit Liverpool’s strong defense this season.

Westwood’s first goal was controversial because Alisson was disturbed by three Burnley players in the forbidden box. When Westwood kicked the ball from a corner, Alisson was unable to prevent it.

While the second goal was created because of a Liverpool backline error that did not immediately sweep the ball away. Gudmundsson took advantage of opportunities from close range against Alisson. Fortunately, Liverpool play at Anfield and have one of the best front lines in Europe.

When Mohamed Salah had not scored again, Firmino and Mane each scored twice to ease Mo Salah’s work. Firmino has now been involved in Liverpool’s 100 goals in all competitions with a score of 63 goals and 37 assists.

While Mane continued his sharpness at Anfield through scoring goals in six consecutive Premier League home games. Besides Mane, there are only four other Liverpool players who can do it: Michael Owen, Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez, and Mo Salah.

A positive result against Burnley convinced Jurgen Klopp that his team was still there and fighting to win the Premier League title against Man City.

“Today’s message: There is no one to get rid of us if we play like today,” Klopp stressed to Sky Sports.

“We have the perfect combination of persistent opponents fighting, fighting because of the situation, and playing their football. I like it.”

“We must ensure that we remain in competition at the top of the table which is exciting,” Klopp continued.

The 30-year-old recovered from injury and found his best moment at the right time for Liverpool. Adam Lallana could be the closing void of Philippe Coutinho as a ballplayer from midfield to the front.

Lallana has a different type of play compared to other Liverpool midfielders. He did not have great energy to help the team survive and then ran from the second line to help the attack. But, Lallana is a player with good technique.

Kala against Burnley, Lallana passed 64 times (78 percent accuracy), won the ball five times, won the tackle four times, once cut the ball, and even created a great opportunity that produced a Mane goal.

The former Southampton captain could be a boost for Liverpool who are still fighting in the Champions League and Premier League. His ability to manage attacks made him a ‘Joker card’ for the Merseyside team.

Because in the last few games, Liverpool are too dependent on Mo Salah, Firmino, and Mane to score. When all three are stuck, there is no help from the second line because Liverpool don’t have a creative midfielder. Lallana’s presence covered this up against Burnley.
