After City is Punished by UEFA, Mourinho Questioning the 2017/18 Premier League Champion Title

DBasia.news –  Tottenham Hotspur’s manager, Jose Mourinho, raised his voice to comment on the severe sanctions obtained by Manchester City from UEFA.  In particular, Mou questioned the validity of the 2017/18 Premier League title which was embraced by The Cityzens.

After leading Tottenham Hotspur to a 3-2 win at Aston Villa, Jose Mourinho specifically alluded to the 2017-18 Premier League title.  At that time, Manchester City was empowered by packing 100 points and 19 points ahead of Manchester United who was then handled by The Special One.

“I have to ask whether the team that finishes second in 2018 will be declared champions?  Yes or no?  That will be interesting.  However, despite the joke, I am waiting for that answer calmly, “said Jose Mourinho as quoted by the London Evening Standard.

On the basis of the evidence of violations of the Financial Fair Play that occurred from 2012 to 2016, Manchester City was given severe sanctions by UEFA.  The Cityzens may not appear in the Champions League in the next two seasons and must pay a fine of 30 million euros.

Other penalties are also very likely to get the Manchester United city club.  One of them is the possibility of revoking the title won in 2013-14 if the Premier League applies a point deduction.  This possibility is what then tickled Mourinho to question the 2017-18 season title.

Jose Mourinho understands the wait to get an answer to his question will be long.  The punishment handed down by UEFA is not final.  Manchester City can still appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

“From what I know, UEFA punishes them.  However, they still have a chance of appeal.  I think, until the appeal process is finished, Manchester City benefits from a floating situation.  At the end of the process, we will see whether they are punished or not, “explained Jose Mourinho.
