Ahead of U-16 AFF Cup, The U-16 Thailand National Team Will Have Two Friendly Matches

DBasia.news – The U-16 Thailand national team is preparing for the U-16 2018 AFF Cup in Indonesia (Sidoarjo and Gresik), from July 29 to August 11, 2018. In this event, Thailand is in Group B along with Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, and Brunei Darussalam.
While the group A belongs to host country Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Kamboja, Timor Leste, and Filipina.
The U-16 Thailand national team will have the international friendly matches with India and Myanmar. These will be the last two matches before flying to Indonesia.
The friendly match with India was on July 20 and with Myanmar in the next 3 days.
This agenda shows Thailand’s serious intention to become the champion in U-16 level. Previously became the champion in 2015, Thailand got the third place in 2016 and runner-up in 2017.
Previously, Thailand had a friendly match with the local team after the preparation on July 11.
Thailand also joined the U-17 tournament in China, held by China Football Association (CFA) since the beginning of July. Thailand got a draw score 1-1 versus North Korea, won 3-1 to India, before playing 1-1 with the host.
Meanwhile, the U-16 Indonesia national team will have a friendly match versus an easy opponent in Sidoarjo. Explained by PSSI Secretary-General Ratu Tisha Destria, the friendly match with the U-16 Malaysia national team and the U-17 Johor Darul Ta’zim were the heaviest matches for Fakhri Husaini squad.
In two friendly matches with Malaysia, Indonesia loss 3-4 to Malaysia on July 6 before playing draws 1-1 versus JDT, two days later.
