DBasia.news –  Liverpool showed a strong desire to win the Premier League this season. Starting the 2019-20 season at Anfield against Norwich City on Saturday (10/8) early morning Western Indonesian Time, the Reds won with a landslide score of 4-1. In the match also Alisson, Liverpool’s goalkeeper, injured and potentially absent against Chelsea.

Only 39 minutes into the game, the position was 3-0 for Liverpool through goals scored by Grant Hanley (suicide three minutes), Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, Alisson has been withdrawn due to a calf injury and replaced by a new goalkeeper, Adrian.

As a result, there was a chance that Alisson was absent when facing Chelsea at the European Super Cup which took place at Vodafone Arena on Thursday (15/8) at 2:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. This was confirmed by the manager, Jurgen Klopp.

“There is nothing negative that can be said about the game except Ali’s injury. This is not good for us, but we still have to see how serious this injury is and then we have to accept it. This is a calf injury,” explained Klopp, quoted by the Guardian.

“He cannot continue the match and that is not a good sign. He will not play on Wednesday (against Chelsea), I have said it because of my experience. Rips (in Alisson’s injury)? Maybe, but you can’t say without scanning. Certainly, he was injured.”

Liverpool were immediately confronted with the crisis of the goalkeeper at the beginning of this season. Practically only Adrian can be counted on as a goalkeeper with his experience playing at club and Premier League levels.

Because Liverpool have sold Simon Mignolet to Club Brugge, then Caoimhin Kelleher and Vitezslav Jaros also followed Alisson to the team’s treatment room. The only reserve keeper in Liverpool at the moment is the former Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

“Kelleher’s hand was previously broken and has now returned to training, but not 100 percent (fit). Varos injured his elbow. We are a bit lacking in players (in the goalkeeper position). Adrian is a very confident man,” Klopp added.

“He doesn’t want to just sit on the bench for the next few years. He is always ready, but in a situation like this, you want someone who has played in the league, ready, a calm and good man with both feet – very important to us. We don’t want to be in a situation where only one goalkeeper is fit,” he explained.
