Ancelotti Is Frustrated for Napoli’s and Condemns Red Star’s Negative Performance

After the match, Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted his disappointment of the squad’s performance. The former Chelsea manager mentioned the squad played too slow.

“We were a little bit slow in our passing, a little slow getting on the end of passes and made a few too many mistakes,” Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a pity, as we came so close to scoring a goal.”

Despite the disappointment with the squad’s performance, Ancelotti isn’t worried too much. He believes there would be another chance for Il Partenopei to qualify the next round.

“We dropped two points in a difficult group, that is true, but there are another five games to go. We mustn’t be so dramatic. We are currently second in the group and there’s no need to be too negative,” Ancelotti said.

Besides highlighting the slow phase of his squad, Ancelotti also condemned the host’s negative performance, especially during the last 15 remaining minutes of the match.

“It was inevitable there would be no real football in the last 15 minutes. They are professionals at time-wasting, diving .”

In the upcoming match of Group C, Napoli will meet Liverpool who won the first match against Paris Saint-Germain with a 3-2 score. The match against Liverpool will be on October 4, 2018.
