DBasia.news –  The new generation of Manchester United academy products will never forget the historic night in Paris, in the last 16 of the Champions League against PSG (Paris Saint-Germain).

Angel Gomes, Mason Greenwood, James Garner, Tahith Chong, are some of the Red Devils academy products brought into the squad by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Greenwood and Chong were played in the second round by Solskjaer.

Experience when witnessing history is one of Man United’s dramatic comeback will not be timeless. Gomes expressed his experience at MUTV.

“That experience (against PSG in the Champions League) was great, not only for me but all the children who came (from the academy) and were involved,” Gomes said, quoted from Goal.

“I think eight players are coming from the academy and traveling. That shows how much the club has an interest in young players. It’s great for the club and shows, everywhere, how great this club is.”

What makes the 18-year-old midfielder even more proud of United, is the fact that he along with Greenwood, Chong, and other academy products, come from the same generation.

“The more that comes (from the academy), the more it shows (what kind of club it is) Man United. I think it’s great for Mason and Chongy to be involved,” Gomes added.

“This is an experience they will never forget. I grew up with them, from the U-9 team to the present. Seeing that we are all in the first team, traveling and getting experience, it’s great,” he explained.

Moreover, when the match ended at the Parc des Princes and Man United escaped with aggressiveness on away goals 3-3, two club icons, Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona went to the player’s dressing room to shake their hands while congratulating.

“It’s clear, I just watched from the bench and became my fans, so being able to go out and celebrate with fans is a very big experience, this is something I will never forget,” Gomes added.

“What is very big for me is Sir Alex (Ferguson) and Eric (Cantona) coming after the match, to shake hands and talk to us. They are very big figures and by just seeing them in the player’s dressing room. I think that makes everyone a little more passionate and truly happy, “Gomes explained ending the story in Paris.
