Arsenal Can Fix Season Records With an FA Cup Champion
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Arsenal will fight hard to win the FA Cup title. The Manager, Mikel Arteta assessed The Gunners can improve season records by winning the title.
Arsenal completed the 2019/2020 season in the English League with poor results. The North London club can only finish in eighth position with 56 points, without winning a ticket to Europe.
The record was far from the drastic achievement of last season, which at that time Arsenal was able to finish in fifth position with 70 points. Arsenal also failed in the 2018/2019 season for the Champions League because they lost a point to Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal have another route to Europe next season. One way is to beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final. The duel took place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (1/8/2020) evening hrs.
“Since I arrived here on December 20, many things happened and so many stones have been blocking us, but I believe we have made a lot of progress in many situations,” Arteta said on the Arsenal official website.
“Around the environment that we created, the unity shown by fans, teams and clubs at the moment, I think we are on a good track. We have a great opportunity now to have a good season if we are able to win against Chelsea in the final, lift trophy and qualify for Europe,” Arteta continued.
Arsenal have twice met Chelsea in the final. Of the two meetings, Arsenal always win. The first win occurred in the 2001/2002 season, when Arsenal won 2-0 through goals from Ray Parlor and Freddie Ljungberg.
The two teams met again in the final in 2016/2017. Arsenal managed to win 2-1 through goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey. Chelsea had evened the score through Diego Costa’s goal.
Arsenal are the team that dominates the FA Cup. The North London club won 13 times. Manchester United is second with 12 trophies and Chelsea is third with eight titles with Tottenham Hotspur.
