AS Roma Must Be patient if they want to Contract Smalling Permanently
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Chris Smalling immediately became the new idol of AS Roma supporters this season. Even so, the status of the contract until now is still a loan player from Manchester United.
Just brought in last summer, Chris Smalling has collected 14 appearances and scored two goals in all competitions. Together with Gianluca Mancini and Federico Fazio, he became an irreplaceable figure at the heart of the defense.
This greatness immediately led to discourse related to the contract situation. Many think that AS Roma deserves permanent status at the end of the season. However, this has not been confirmed by the team manager, Morgan De Sanctis.
“It is well known by everyone that we are still trying to find solutions to make everyone happy. But we will not be in a hurry in making a decision because we want to do everything right,” De Sanctis said as reported by the Italian Football, Friday (12/13/2019).
“Chris is our best player. His presence made us appear more solid in defense and found overall balance. He also said that he was very happy in Rome, “continued the former goalkeeper Il Lupi.
All possibilities are certainly still open. AS Roma really needs a leader in the backline like the England national team player. While Manchester United seems to have been able to forget the defender, remembering the duet Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in the heart of the defense is getting more solid.
If the Italian capital club really wants to keep the 30-year-old a player, then they have to spend 20 million euros.
