DBasia.news – Manchester United is currently preparing to undergo the 2020-2021 Premier League season by bringing in a number of players, one of them is Jack Grealish. The arrival of Grealish is considered to increase the depth of the squad in the Red Devils’ midfield.

However, the Villa officials did not want to just lose the team captain who successfully led the team from Birmingham to survive in the Premiere League. All the gaps and opportunities for United to tempt Grealish, including the offer of a high salary, was closed by Villa management. In fact, as reported by The Sun, Villa management is ready to offer a salary increase for Grealish.

“Two club owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, have no intention of losing Villa’s first team captain this summer. They will offer Grealish a two-year contract extension with an additional salary increase option of up to 100 thousand pounds per week, ” The Sun reported, Wednesday (5/8).

In fact, Grealish’s contract with Villa will only end in 2023. With the latest contract offer, the 24-year-old midfielder is expected to continue to play with Villa until 2025. In addition, Grealish will also receive a salary increase, which previously ranged from 70 thousand pounds per week to 100 thousand pounds per week.

This is Villa management’s latest effort to block United’s movement in order to bring in Grealish. Previously, Villa was reported to have set a high transfer fee for clubs interested in recruiting the Aston Villa football academy alumni. Villa is said to have wanted to release Grealish with a transfer value of no less than 80 million pounds.

In addition to offering contract extensions and salary increases to Grealish, Villa is also reportedly preparing a new contract offer and salary increase for Tyrone Mings and John McGinn. These two players are considered capable of contributing significantly to Villa’s efforts to survive in the Premiere League this season. Villa are ranked 17th in the Premier League final this season, bagging a one point advantage over the relegation zone.
