DBasia.news –  Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur shared a point when clashing at Wembley in the continuing 29th Premier League, Saturday (2/3) evening WIB.

After leading through Aaron Ramsey’s goal in the 16th minute, Mauricio Pochettino’s side managed to equalize te position through Harry Kane’s penalty in the 74th minute. The visitors could actually lock the victory in the 90th minute, unfortunately, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s penalty was blocked by Hugo Lloris.

The visitors’ situation got worse after Lucas Torreira was rewarded with a direct red card by the referee for being considered to have violated Danny Rose. In response to the less than optimal results obtained by his team, Unai Emery as the manager finally spoke up on the matter. He was reluctant to blame Aubameyang as the reason his team failed to win full points in this match.

“We managed to create a lot of goal opportunities and have the potential to win. Laca (Alexandre Lacazette) had two golden opportunities, but he failed to score. Likewise with Aubameyang. Okay. No problem. I don’t want to feel frustrated because of a mistake made by the player and want the team to continue to create opportunities, “Emery said as quoted by the Independent.

“I still feel proud of what the players have shown. In a match, you can win, lose or get a draw. I am happy because Arsenal played as a team. The process of adaptation to this match also takes goes by quickly,” he added.

A draw against Spurs made Arsenal have to settle down to fifth place in the standings, the fourth position was won by Manchester United who managed to beat Southampton through a dramatic fight with a score of 3-2.

Closing the conversation, Emery also revealed his reason for not pairing Aubameyang up with Lacazette.

“They (Aubameyang and Lacazette) must accept the decision that I have made. This is the best decision for the team as a whole. We also still have to play a number of important matches. It is difficult to get Auba and Lacazette back on the front lines,” he concluded.
