Aubameyang, Mane, Mo Salah Fight for 2018 African Player of the Year

DBasia.news – PMohamed Salah’s performance this season is persistent compared to his overall achievement last season with Liverpool when he scored 43 goals of all competitions.
Mo Salah proved that he isn’t one season wonder, the term used for a player who just played great one season.
Thanks to his impressive performance, Liverpool are now leading the table with an unbeaten record. Mo Salah scored 13 of 20 Premier League goals. The 26-year-old player might start the 2019 year with another achievement.
BBC Sport reported Mo Salah might get the 2018 African Player of the Year Award CAF version. The former player of Chelsea and AS Roma are in the top three shortlisted candidate with his teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The awarding ceremony was conducted at Dakar, Senegal, on January 9th. Besides that category, there is also the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The three candidates are: Thembi Kgatlana (Houston Dash -South Africa), Francisca Ordega (Washington Spirit – Nigeria), dan Asisat Oshoala (Dallan Quanjian FC – Nigeria).
Mo Salah, Aubameyang, and Mane’s shortlisted positions are no surprise. They had a great statistic last year.
By the statistic accumulation, Mane won 50 matches with 20 goals and 6 assists. Aubameyang came with 40 matches with 25 goals and 7 assists. Meanwhile, Mo Salah scored 37 goals and gave 18 assists in 50 matches.
